LOCATION SOUND RECORDIST & OB SOUND ENGINEER
I’ve recorded and broadcast live sound for many international sporting events, major entertainment shows, various documentaries (historical, sports, ob-doc, current affairs) arts, BTS, corporates (branded content, in-house) and commercials.
With more than 20 years in TV sound, I’ve become very a versatile OB sound engineer and sound recordist. Thanks initially to training at The London School of Audio Engineering, followed by ITV studios, they enabled me to gain valuable experience working in all the areas of broadcast sound.
I love the variety of work I get to do and the amazing locations that the TV business has enabled me to create sound for from Moscow to Mogadishu, Buckingham Palace to Dagenham Tower blocks, the North Sea to San Francisco Bay, Ayers Rock to the jungle of Borneo, and from lifesaving surgical theatre to the theatre of war. Just some locations I’ve had the privilege to work.
This incredible variety has inevitably meant working with some amazing people, including Hollywood movie stars, royalty, presidents and prime ministers, world-famous sports stars, musicians, billionaires, many wonderful role models - all kinds of people I’ve had the honour to meet. Also worked with some tricky talent and demanding clients too!
I’m a calm, creative team player, equally happy to work in the great outdoors or the studio, love to muck-in with the crew and assist all departments in any way I can. I also have some basic but useful camera, lighting and video skills. I’ve been responsible for operating/managing technical facilities in many international press conferences, commentary facilities, live links and in sometimes challenging situations as well!
I’m based in the southeast of the UK, approximately halfway between Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
